Record breaking GCSE results for Westergate students.

Students in Westergate have beaten GCSE targets.

Westergate Community School pupils have achieved in excess of 73 per cent five A* to C GCSE results.

Headteacher Steve Nelmes said everyone at the school was extremely pleased with the achievements of the students in this year’s examinations, with 40 per cent of students achieving A or A* at GCSE.

Provisional figures suggest the figure including English and mathematics is the same as last year’s record breaking result at 46 per cent.

Thanking staff, governors and parents for their support Mr Nelmes said the results show a continuing upwards trajectory in achievement for students at the school.

He added results in science, maths, french and music were particularly good this year.
