Santa's expenses on sweets for the children, music, and equipment repairs came to 97.25.

Lions fundraising chairman David Burstow, said: "What can I say?

"It's meant a lot of hard work by the Lions Club members, but the real heroes are the people of Bexhill who have yet again shown their generosity '“ a big thank you to them all. Thanks also to L&G Electrical Wholesalers, Smith & Humphrey Garage and Earl's Bakery for helping to keep the Lions' Christmas show on the road."

"Together with contributions at the rather damp Old Town Christmas Fayre, it means Bexhill Lions Charity Fund has been boosted by over 2700 over the Christmas period. This money will be used to support many local worthy causes, as well as special initiatives by Lions Club International, and we never have as much to give as we would like. However, the Christmas donations mean that we will start 2008 in a healthy position to help us respond positively to calls for help in the coming year - and we are always interested in hearing from those in Bexhill in need of support."
