Red Cross Christmas coffee morning

THERE was plenty of Christmas cheer to be found at the Red Cross coffee morning, held at Thalia House on Saturday.

Dedicated Red Cross volunteers supplied festive mince pies, teas and coffees for weary Christmas shoppers to enjoy, along with a well stocked raffle, tombola and stalls offering books, videos, toys, china and glass.

In addition, for those who can perhaps forget about the credit crunch and consider saving for a rainy day, there was the opportunity to purchase a colourful china piggy bank or two, from a large selection which had been generously donated.

Centre organiser Rosemary Berry said the coffee morning had been a busy event and with just over 123 raised for Red Cross funds, said it was, "A very good day."
