It’s red nose day on Friday (March 13) and Uckfield residents are already gearing up to raise money for the worthwhile cause.

However there is a big issue which is giving slight problems to parents/careers and children in getting involved, and that is the lack of being able to purchase a red nose in Uckfield.

Currently red noses can only be bought at Sainsburys, Robert Dyas and Oxford or online.

Uckfield does not have any of the above stores either resulting in trips out of town, buying online or just making do with a tomato like Caroline Pagett and her children (pictured).

SLM Toyota are currently stocking red noses but only for cars.

James Anderson, of Allsorts, did contact Comic Relief about stocking red noses but had no joy.

If you did manage to get a red nose (or tomato) Pagett Childcare will be running a red nose morning on Thursday (March 12) in Victoria Park from 10.30am to 11.30am, encouraging all parents/careers and children to take red snacks to eat and join in dancing and singing – donations accepted on the day, everyone is welcome!
