Refurbished Southern Pavilion now open

AN iconic building in the town was officially reopened on Wednesday afternoon after three years of being empty.

The Grade II listed Southern Pavilion, which is at the end of Worthing Pier, was originally built in 1935 and has been refurbished back to its original Art Deco style – English oak floors, crystal chandeliers and panoramic sea views from every window.

The multi-purpose venue will be used for weddings, conferences, music nights, shows and local community events. During the day it will be used as a seaside café.

The venue opened to the public at 9am this morning. It will be open seven days a week from 9am until 8pm.

Southern Pavilion developer Phil Duckett said: “This iconic local building will, at long last, be used to its full potential, and once again you will have the experience that you are on cruise liner going back in time.”
