RELIABLE TRADERS SCHEME SUCCESS

EAST Sussex County Council's Buy With Confidence scheme '“ organised by its Trading Standards service - has now signed up 205 members, making it one of the most successful of its kind in the UK.

The scheme promotes good customer service and provides local people with a list of traders that have been vetted and approved by Trading Standards officers.

The approved traders that have just joined the scheme were officially welcomed at a recent ceremony in Eastbourne hosted by council chairman John Barnes.

Said Cllr Barnes, said: 'I am told that traders joining the scheme are getting good business from it.

'This is a classic win/win situation, since the scheme is great for both the consumer and business.'

The council recently launched an approved trader directory, featuring many of the businesses involved in the scheme.
