Remembrance at Rye Primary

Reception classes at Rye Primary School have been learning about the significance of ‘The Poppy’ and what it symbolises.

They made their own poppy wreaths which they then took to the Remembrance Assembly on November 11 when they joined the rest of the school for two minutes silence.

Rye Primary was also represented at the Remembrance Service at St Mary’s church when the Head Boy and Head Girl laid a wreath on the memorial.

Sue Ball, from the school, said: “We are very proud of the respect shown by all of our children, and we will be holding an exhibition on Friday 5th December, when parents will be invited in to look at all the work the children have done in connection with the anniversary of WW1.”
