A Sunday service will be held at Litten Gardens on Sunday, with a parade from East Street to the war memorial for a two minutes’ silence at 11am.

Members of the armed forces, cadets, scouts and guides, emergency service personnel and other organisations will march through the city starting in East Street at 10.35am.

The Mayor and city council will set off from the Council House shortly afterwards to join the parade at Litten Gardens.

The order of service at the war memorial will include hymns and prayers for peace and close with the national anthem before the parade returns to East Street.

Mayor Peter Budge said: “I hope that as many of you as possible will join together to mark this very special occasion. Please join me and my fellow councillors at Litten Gardens.”

To mark Armistice Day, members of the public are also invited to join a two minutes’ silence at the City Cross tomorrow, (Friday) with the Mayor and Royal British Legion standard bearers.
