The Remembrance Sunday service will be held at Peacehaven’s new War Memorial for the first time on Sunday November 11.

In previous years the service had been held at the Church of Ascension in the town.

There will also be a new route for the parade. Participants will gather at Peacehaven Police Station at 10am and then march up Sutton Avenue towards the new memorial in Meridian Park, just off Meridian Way, at 10.30am.

The service will take place at 11am at the War Memorial.

County bugler Heidi Watkins will attend for the first time and everyone is welcome to attend.

Groups that wish to join the parade or lay a wreath should contact the secretary on 01273 302478.

Wreaths will only be handed over to people who have ordered them beforehand.

Chairman of the Peacehaven and Telscombe Branch of the Royal British Legion Johan Janse van Vuuren said: “The branch had another successful year in fundraising for the Poppy Appeal. We now have reached the £11,000.00 mark.

“We are grateful to each and everyone in Peacehaven and Telscombe who has helped and contributed towards the fund.

“All funds will be used towards welfare and other services for present and ex-service men and women and their dependants.”

The branch is appealing for people to help with collecting in November.
