Reminder to clean chimneys after fire in Worthing

WORTHING fire crew are reminding people to have their chimneys swept after a fire started inside a chimney breast in Worthing.

Firefighters were called to a house in Haynes Road at 6.30pm yesterday (Friday, April 23), after a build-up of dust and debris had caught alight in the chimney.

Crew commander Liberato Vendito said: "While it wasn't a serious fire we need to remind people to have their chimneys swept once a year to prevent fires like this one."
