Residents aim to be pick of the bunch yet again

Blooming beautiful gardens have made a group of Rose Green flats the pick of the bunch.

The colourful displays around Rose Court saw the site win the Aldwick Parish Council award for the best residential gardens last year.

The plaque was recently received by the scheme's warden, Victoria Perry, to mark her first year in the role, and the proud occupants of the 34 flats on Gossamer Lane.

Victoria said they would be doing their best to retain their top status during this summer after last year's winning displays with roses and marigolds among the blooms.

"It's important our grounds look nice," she said. "The residents possibly had gardens when they were at home and it's good for them to have one here.

"It makes the site pleasant to look at and it also encourages them to do a little bit of gardening as well.

"We are on a busy junction and we get a lot of comments from passers-by about our flowers and how lovely they look."

The flats were nominated by resident Beryl Bilham who has a raised bed full of flowers.
