Residents get expanded parking options

The parking options for residents in Pound Hill and Three Bridges are to be extended.

West Sussex County Council has announced that more roads in Pound Hill and Three Bridges will be clear of commuter parking during daytime hours.

The aim is to give retailers a boost by encouraging a quicker turnover of vehicles.

New signs and lines are being put in place over the next four weeks as Residents’ Parking Schemes in both areas are expanded.

The schemes will be extended in the following locations:

Pound Hill:

- Hastings Road

Three Bridges:

- Ash Road

- Forge Lane

- Forge Road

- Halland Close

- Holly Close

- North Road

- Pond Wood Road

- Woodend Close.

The county council is extending restrictions in a small area of the existing Three Bridges parking scheme to include Saturdays.

Limited waiting times are also being introduced on Saturdays to help shopping areas in Three Bridges Road and Pound Hill Parade.

West Sussex County Council’s cabinet member for highways and transport, Bob Lanzer, said: “We are glad these improvements are being introduced after going through a full public consultation.

“The changes will make it easier for residents who live in these streets to park where they live.

“The new waiting times on Three Bridges Road and Pound Hill Parade will also improve these areas commercially.”

Other minor amendments for Pound Hill are taking place in Alicia Avenue, Crawley Lane, Moat Walk, Pearson Road and Pound Hill Parade.

In Three Bridges, minor amendments are being introduced in North Road and Three Bridges Road.
