Residents help catch speedsters

WEALDEN Community Speedwatch is going from strength to strength with volunteers working alongside Sussex Police in enforcing speed in Cowbeech.

The Community Speedwatch volunteers regularly go out in Wealden doing speed checks using the Wealden police speed devices.

If a speeding vehicle is recorded, then a letter is sent out from the police letting them know they have been seen. If they continually break the speed limits, the information is passed onto the Road Policing Team to target the area.

There are currently 20 groups trained to use the devices across Wealden, 11 of these groups carry out regular weekly checks.
