Restaurant booking website toptable has revealed that the Wild Mushroom has come in at number 10 in the company’s annual Diner’s Choice awards.

The venue is in illustrious company, with London’s critically acclaimed Restaurant Gordon Ramsay taking the number one spot and chef Heston Blumenthal securing two spots in the top five with his widely acclaimed The Fat Duck placing second.

The annual Diners’ Choice Awards for the Top 100 Best Restaurants in the UK are generated from more than 340,000 reviews collected from verified toptable diners between 14 November 2012 and 15 November 2013 for approximately 4,000 restaurants across the UK.

All restaurants with a minimum number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration.

Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to a score calculated from each restaurant’s average rating in the ‘overall’ category along with that restaurant’s rating relative to others in the same metropolitan area and the average number of restaurants reviewed by diners who reviewed that restaurant.

The Wild Mushroom, which serves modern English cuisine in a converted farmhouse, wasn’t the only restaurant from Rother to make it in to the top 100.

The Ambrette in Rye also made it on to the list for 2013.
