Results day for GCSE pupils

THERE were happy scenes across 1066 Country as the region’s schools celebrated another year of impressive GCSE results.

Paul Swatton, headteacher at Claverham in Battle, said: “I am very pleased with the outstanding results achieved by the students at Claverham Community College this year. 74 per cent of the Year 11 students achieved five or more A*-C grades including English and maths. These are amongst the best ever results for the college and are a product of the hard work, dedication and commitment shown by all students and the staff at the college, supported by parents and governors. My congratulations go to all concerned.”

Things were looking just as rosy at Robertsbridge Community College, with 71 per cent of pupils achieving five A*-C grades with no less than 14 students achieving in excess of five A*/A grades.

This is testament to the endeavour of students and hard work and commitment of staff at the college, and these results place us very well for considerable further success in the future.”
