Revellers celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee

DESPITE the rain, residents took to the streets in Shoreham to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

Parties were held in Victoria Road in Southwick, Downside, Park Avenue, Victoria Road, Church Lane, Parkside, Rosslyn Road, East Street, and Coronation Green, all in Shoreham, with the Herald attending most of them.

In Parkside, quick-thinking residents bought sheltering hours before the rain came.

Organiser Sarah Dugnolle said: “It’s been really great. There’s a few we didn’t see last year for the royal wedding. It’s nice, because despite the weather everyone got stuck in.”
