Reward offer for safe return of dog missing near Henfield

A reward is being offered for the safe return of a dog that went missing while out walking on the Downs Link Trail between Henfield and Partridge Green.

Ten-year-old Border Terrier ‘Spike’, who currently lives in Burgess Hill but has previously lived in Bolney, disappeared on Monday December 28.

Owner Dave Dalziel said: “Despite intensive searching by the local Henfield ‘Find Spike’ Facebook group,who turned in force in all weathers, and the local co-ordinator for Harvey’s Army who co-ordinated our efforts he is still missing.”

Spike has been with Dave for four years after he was re-homed from a breeder when he became too old to be productive.

He soon fitted in with the family’s lifestyle of long walks and visiting new places all over the country in their motorhome including two trips to over winter in Spain.

“So far we have had three unconfirmed sightings between Henfield and Albourne the last being on January 13,” added Dave.

“We are now offering a reward for Spike’s safe return through the Facebook network.”
