Reward offered after dog taken

A family believes its cherished dog left out by mistake has been stolen.

Miniature Schnauzer Dante went missing sometime after 12.45 am last Friday morning from Fairfield Road, Burgess Hill despite being hemmed in by rabbit-proof and high fencing.

His owner Andy Bradford thinks a thief perhaps scouring the area came across the dog and decided to take him on the spur of the moment.

Mr Bradford said: “ He was left out by mistake. Our lodger thought he was already in the house, and we were in bed.

“I have fencing all round, I am land locked. There are some trampled plants a couple of gardens down the road, so I think they clambered over fences. I know there have been a few other dogs gone missing.”

The sog’s breed name term comes from the German word for moustache because of the dog’s distinctively bearded snout.

Mr Bradford is offering £100 reward for information leading to the dog’s return to him, his wife, and two children.

Anyone who has information should ring him on 01444 230313.

He said: “The dog is cat-sized he can’t high garden feances, and my garden was made rabbit proof, so he could not have got out.”
