ST MARY'S: We celebrate Mothering Sunday this Sunday with a special Family Service starting at 10am. It's a short and simple service during which all children are invited to collect a posy for their mothers. We are promised traditional Simnel Cake with coffee afterwards. Holy Communion takes place at 8am on Sunday there will be a Parish Eucharist at 6.30pm. Shine on Saturday runs from 10am to noon tomorrow, Saturday. It's open to all pupils Reception to Yr 6 and the theme is The Wise Man and the Foolish Man with plenty of fun activities to do. Men's Club meets on Tuesday with a talk from Revd Frank Fox Wilson on two of his interests; Woodcarving and Jazz. Visitors are welcome to join. The Lent course continues this Thursday and next, meeting at 10am and 7.30pm. We are following the Diocese course on Opening Doors and each session is open to all. The next Simple Lent Lunch takes place on Friday March 11 in the Church Room, 10am to noon. All are welcome.

BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday February 24, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Alan Disney and Roy Skan; 2, Liz and Tim Owen; 3, Frank Hibbert and George Montgomery. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Contact 814220.
