Hide AdShe is very much of her time and her self-penned songs have an edgy, contemporary feel.
“I have never been to Rye,” she says, “and I am really looking forward to it.”
Julia is currently working on a new ten track recording that is due to be released in the autumn.
An emerging star, she has collaborated with post-jazz group Polar Bear and Ben Watt of Everything But The Girl, but Julia says she also enjoys the freedom of exploring her own work and ideas.

Hide AdShe has been hailed by the The Independent as ‘the best British vocalist to emerge in an age’.
As well as singing, she is a talented instrumentalist, switching between piano and guitar with ease.
Her music is somewhere between jazz, pop, rock, soul and folk, placing the song at the heart of her performance. She will be accompanying herself on piano and guitar alongside Idris Rahman on bass and Saleem Raman on drums.
