Rivers Uck and Ouse - flood warnings

FLOODING is expected in parts of East Sussex.

The Environment Agency now has Flood Warnings out for the Rivers Cuckmere, Uck and Ouse.

A Flood Warning is the second most serious alert to be issued by the Agency. It means that flooding of homes and businesses is expected.

The alert for the Ouse covers the stretch of the river at Barcombe Mills, including Anchor Gates.

The alert for the Uck especially picks out where it joins the Ouse, Isfield Mill and White Bridge, plus around Buxted, between Parsonage Wood and the High Street including the Old Mill area.

The alert for the Cuckmere affects the area around Hellingly and Horsebridge.

Move cars, pets, food, valuables and important documents to safety.

Get flood protection equipment in place.

Turn off gas, electricity and water supplies if safe to do so.
