The station’s Atlantic 85 Renée Sherman lifeboat and volunteer crew picked up a woman in the River Arun who was drifting out to sea following coastguard and police reports just before 10.45pm on Wednesday.

They then handed her over to emergency services. On Thursday, the RNLI responded to reports at around 1.10pm of a leisure vessel that had broken down between Littlehampton and Bognor Regis.
