ROAD ACCIDENT VICTIM GETS HER GOLD AWARD-THREE YEARS ON

IFOLD girl Amelia East finally joined hundreds of young people from across the United Kingdom at Windsor Castle this month to collect her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award from TRH The Earl and Countess of Wessex.

The actual presentation of the award had been delayed since 2004, when a hit-and-run driver left Amelia with such serious injuries that she is still recovering.

Her award was gained through a diverse range of activities, including service to the community, physical and expedition skills and close team work over a period of some three years.
