Road reopen after collision between car and cyclist in Chichester

The A286 in Chichester was closed this afternoon following a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist.

Emergency services were called to the scene between St Paul’s Road and Spitalfield Lane at around 2.10pm this afternoon (October 5).

A police spokesman said: “Police were called at around 2.10pm on Monday (October 5) to a report of a collision between a car and a cyclist on the A286 Northgate.

“Oaklands Way was closed for around half an hour but reopened before 3pm.

“The extent of injuries is not known at this time.

“No arrests have been made.”

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters were on the scene to help with traffic control.
