Brightling Market: is taking place tomorrow Saturday 25th March in Brightling Village Hall. It will be open between 10am and 12noon.

Saturday 25th March: will see the Rother Piano Trio perform in St Mary’s Church Salehurst. This starts at 7.30pm with tickets costing £12.50 and Under 16`s at £10. If you are a R.A.P member the cost will be just £10 and £7 for under 16`s. Ring 880248 or pop into Judges for ticket availability.

The Salehurst Halt are offering a pre-concert supper from 6pm; this will be two courses for £15.00

Robertsbridge Club: is holding live music tomorrow evening Saturday 25th March. This is a Blues Rock Band called “Juicy Lucy” that will be performing between 9pm and mid-night.

St Mary’s Salehurst: will be starting off Mothering Sunday services with Holy Communion at Holy Trinity in Hurst Green at 9am.

At Salehurst at 11am will be Holy Communion. This is a family service and everyone is welcome, especially mothers, grannies, and aunties. At 4pm there is the monthly afternoon Connections Service at Salehurst Primary School. There will be singing and cake. Hopefully there will be a service to suit your needs and if you need a lift please contact Rev. Annette on 880282 who may be able to help.

Robertsbridge Aviation Society Museum: will be open on Sunday 26th March between 2pm – 5pm. There is a wide range of exhibits from WW1 to the present day. A few examples are 30 aero engines, cockpit sections, Home Front, Battle of Britain and so much more. There is Free parking and entrance, however any donations are gratefully received to help with the upkeep of the museum. Light refreshments are available during the afternoon. Fundraising for Louise Ballard: is still happening and this event may appeal to many. A Masquerade Ball at Bannatynes on Saturday 13th May. Tickets cost £30 and are selling fast, to check for availability and details please contact Bev. On 07490368246

Celebratory Teas: to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of St Michaels Hospice, supporters are invited to free celebratory teas throughout Hastings and Rother. On Sunday 7th May a Tea is taking place at Robertsbridge Hall with a choice of 2 sittings at 2pm or 4.30pm. Spaces are limited so early booking is essential. Bookings can be made on www.stmichaelshospice.com/teas these afternoon events are free with thanks to the Big Lottery Fund.

FOOTBALL: Both The Bridge’ teams put in poor performances last week with neither getting a point. The 1st team lost 2-0 at Ore Athletic in the Macron East Sussex Football League Premier Division though it could have been different if Josh MacNab had kept his cool after ten minutes when a good cross from Phil Green found him 5 yards from goal but he put his shot over the bar and just five minutes later the hosts punished that miss with a goal that found three attackers against two defenders and although Bridge keeper stopped one shot, he got hurt in the process, it left Mark Lee alone against three attackers and there was only one outcome and on 20 minutes a long ball over the top found the host striker on his own to make it 2-0 before the break. The second period was a stalemate with niether team creating many chances while Ben Hardy was man of the match for The Bridge. The 2nd team hosted Bexhill Spartans for their last home tie in Division 5 and were behind after just ten minutes when The Bridge defence failed to clear a corner which gave the visitors the half time lead. The second half saw The Bridge score after just five minutes when striker Jason Marsh scored from 8 yards but again the defence let in a simple goal ten minutes later. The Bridge could have levelled on 63 minutes but Thomas Charter’ shot was well saved by the visiting keeper however The Bridge did level on 85 minutes through another Marsh strike but from the re-start the visitors scored again to take all three points. Tomorrow the 1st team are at home to leaders Hollington United while the 2nd team travel to Cranbrook Town with both matches K.O. 3p.m.

FRIDAY DARTS : Last weeks Cup Finals were contrasting in as much as we were favourites to win the pushpenny but underdogs in the darts but in conspired to be a reversal on both matches. The darts team beat favourites The Millers Arms

4-1 with victories for Gary Honeysett, Dave Goodsell, Guy Ballard and Michael Stone with 100+ scores for Guy[2x 140, 123,

3 x 100], Michael[2 x 140, 100], Dave[140, 100], Gary[100] and Kevin Dixon[100] while we lost pushpenny 2-0 to The Old King John. Tonight we are at Mountfield Club for the Captains Cup and Charity Night 8p.m.

STOOLBALL: We start training at The Cricket Ground on Thursday 8th April 2017 from 6.30p.m. where everybody is welcome to come along and try their hand at this game that was invented in Sussex and was the forerunner of cricket as we know it now.
