FOOTBALL : There was no 1st team game last week while the 2nd team hosted Sedlescombe Rangers III in Divison 5 of the Macron East Sussex Football League. Rangers went a goal up in the 12th minute after but The Bridge were level when Sam Cawkill’ 20 yard strike went into the corner. Both sides had chances during the rest of the half but it was Rangers who led at the break after another defensive error saw them score on 42 minutes. The second period both sides pushed for another goal but man of the match JJ Boast held firm in the Bridge defence while chances went begging at the other end until the final minute when Kenny Jones lobbed the ball into the net for a deserved equaliser and a point. Tomorrow the 1st team are away to Hawkhurst United while the 2nd team are at home to leaders Sandhurst with both matches K.O. 3p.m. We are holding a fund-raising evening at Robertsbridge Club on Saturday 2nd April 2016 with a ‘Quiz Night’ for teams of upto 6 players @ £2 per player. There will also be a raffle to help with the Football Club raise funds so why not come along and enjoy a fun evening.
