St Mary's Church Salehurst: will be holding services this week 21st February (Lent 2) starting with Holy Communion at 9am in the Mission Room in Fair Lane. At 11am at Salehurst will be Matins.

A reminder: that tomorrow Saturday 20th there is the talk by Andrew McElwee at the Ostrich starting at 8pm. He will be talking about his life as a former Property Manager for the National Trust. The challenges, joys, and fun told with humour and amusing anecdotes. Tickets are available from Judges Bakery. All are welcome.

Neighbour Hood Plan Information Day: is taking place on Saturday 27th February at the Youth Centre between 10am – 2pm. This gives you the chance to pop along and view the draft vision and objectives for the plan and the sites that have been selected to provide the 155 dwellings in the plan. Please go along and see what could be happening in our village.

Finally: back to dog fouling in our village. There have been many people bringing this subject up to me again, not a subject I relish but as its been told to me on many occasions lately I need to write about it, again !!

The areas that have been mentioned are Fair Lane, top to bottom, outside people’s doors, on pavements, large not small dogs. The Twitten between Fair Lane and the High Street, children use this for school and have prior to half term walked in it and then taken it into school. George Hill, again a route to school and again a large dog, and again there is no excuse. If you walk your dog in these areas please take bags to dispose of your dog waste. If you have a large dog you know when it stops, again no excuse. I know this subject keeps reoccurring in the column but people in the village are very upset about this. If you see someone allowing this please talk to them or take a name and report it.

DARTS: We hosted Mountfield Club ‘A’ last Friday and won the singles 4-3 with victories for Keith Stone, Kevin Dixon, Gary Honeysett and Andy York while Gary/Kevin won the Mens Pairs 2-0 and Frankie Taylor/Tracey Dixon won the Ladies Pairs 2-0. There were 100+ scorers for Richard Bye[122], Gary[108, 2 x 100] and Keith[100]. We won pushpenny 4-1 with wins for Michael Stone, Dave Fortsch, David Goodsell and Keith Stone with Michael and Dave scoring a ‘goldwatch’. There is no game tonight.

FOOTBALL: The weather seems to be relentless this year with both The Bridge matches being called off again. Tomorrow the Bridge 1st team are at home to Old Hastonians in the Semi-Final of the Birchwood Group Challenge Cup K.O. 1.30p.m. while the 2nd team are away to Hampden Park United at Eastbourne Sports Park in the Macron East Sussex Football League Division 5 K.O 2p.m.

LADIES DARTS: Monday 29th February 2016 is the next get together for you ladies at Robertsbridge Club 8p.m.
