Lisa Fifield[4] joined Keith before she was caught on 42 and in the 6th over Keith and Di Kitson[2] were both caught and when Charlie Apps[2] was run out on the last ball we were tottering at 49-5 but a sixth wicket partnership of 34 between Josh Lewis[21] and Alisha Clark[21n.o.] steadied the innings with JJ Boast[9n.o.] taking our 10 over score to 95-6. Catsfield opened with two of their best batters in Rachel[21] and Aaron[40] who put on 67 for the first wicket before Rachel was run out. Josh[1-12] clean bowled Dan[8] in the first over and when Elissa[8] was run out in the third the hosts were on 24 but the hosts sent out one of their best batsmen Neil B[42 retired] to make sure of victory as he hit our bowlers all over the ground. JJ[1-6] bowled Ellie[2] and when Neil retired Lauren[15n.o.] and Ben[14n.o.] saw the hosts finish their 11 overs on 99-3. On Sunday the Mixed team played at Brightling Tournament and batted first against Crowhurst with Josh Lewis getting caught for just 1 run off the third ball but Abigail Fifield[14n.o.] and Keith Apps[34n.o.] saw us finish our allotted 4 overs on 54-1. In reply Gwylym[19] was bowled by Josh[1-10] but then a stand of 26 between Donna[9] and Jason[21] took Crowhurst to 50 before Donna was run out which brought on loan Callum Apps[1n.o.] to join Jason in the last over and they managed to reach 55 before Jason was caught by Josh from Richard Apps’[1-10] bowling. We played the hosts next and they reached 23 before Sarah[2] was run out but a stand of 44 between Chiffer[30] and Jo[24n.o.] steadied the innings before Chiffer was caught by Richard from Keith Apps’[1-10] bowling as they ended on 69-2. In reply we reached 26 before Keith[16] was caught but Abigail[12n.o.] and Josh[36n.o.] got us to within one run of victory finishing on 68-1. Staplecross were next and batting first Keith[8] was caught with just 10 runs on the board and when Josh[4] and Ian Kitson[3] went in quick succession we were on 23-3 but Abigail[16n.o.] and Richard[13n.o.] got us to 56-3. Alan[19n.o.] and Carolyn[32] put on 46 before Carolyn was bowled by Keith[1-13] and Rachel[5n.o.] took Staplecross to 59-1. Our final match was against the holders Catsfield and batting first Keith[21] was caught but a stand of 40 between Josh[32n.o.] and Abigail[6] took us to 63 before Abigail was run out on the last ball.
