Robertsbridge Village Market: is being held tomorrow Saturday 4th April between 10am – 12 noon. Another great line up expected of food, craft stalls, hand made children’s clothes, Alpaca wool, new savoury foods with an Italian twist, and sweet temptations in the form of hand made chocolates, truffles Turkish delight and nougat, all in time for Easter week end. There will be an exhibition of paintings and prints of East Sussex and Kent from Michael Preston of Rye Art.

Robertsbridge Club: welcome Live Music tomorrow Saturday 4th from 8.30pm in the form of `Coldshot` playing Rock Blues covers. `Cabinaires` playing folk covers and `Craig Devlin` who is an oriental acoustic artist. Something for everyone, why not pop down for a great evening, and don’t forget it’s a Bank Holiday weekend so plenty of time to do those jobs as well as having some fun.

St Mary’s Salehurst: this week services on Easter Sunday 5th April start with Eucharist with Hymns at Holy Trinity in Hurst Green and Family Eucharist at Salehurst at 11am. There will be Easter eggs for the children. Rev. Christopher Channing will be taking these services. As you read this the extra services for Holy week at St Mary’s will be well under way. There will be sung Liturgy at 12 noon today Good Friday, and tomorrow evening Saturday 4th there will be a Holy Vigil from 8pm. Everyone is welcome to attend these services.

Age Concern: will not be meeting on Monday this week as it is Easter Monday and is a Bank Holiday but will resume on April 6th at Robertsbridge Hall as usual between 10.30am – 2.15pm.

Are you thinking: of doing something to keep fit this Spring, or do you enjoy tennis but have no where to play. This may be the answer to your prayers. On a Sunday morning or a Wednesday and Friday evening during the summer there is a friendly Tennis Club in the Robertsbridge area. If you are interested and would like to go along for a game please contact Mary Ann or David on 881629 for details.

Shoe re-cycle bin: - this is the one that used to be outside of the Post Office in the High Street, it is now outside of the Floral Boutique on the opposite side of the road. Please continue donating your shoes as every pair helps.

Also the Floral Boutique will be stocking the Noel Tatt cards that used to be available in the Post Office along with birthday and celebration banners.

DARTS : The pushpenny team played in the final of the Knockout Cup last week against The Old King John at Mountfield Club and won 3-0. Well done to Ted Goldfinch, Frankie Taylor, David Goodsell, Dave Fortsch, Keith Stone and Michael Stone. No games tonight as it is Easter but don’t forget the very popular ‘Open Pairs Darts Knockout’ is on Sunday at Robertsbridge Club starting at 7.30p.m. Entry is just £1. This is a fun evening for everybody whether you play darts or not it is just a fun night and there is also a raffle.

FOOTBALL : Both teams were struggling for players last week with the 1st team having a bare 12 at their away match against 2nd placed Hollington United in the Macron East Sussex Football League Premier Division. The hosts scored with just 2 minutes on the clock but The Bridge saw Phil Green’s shot saved by the home keeper 10 minutes later but a mistake by Grant Lewis in the Bridge goal gifted Hollington their second and then they made it 3-0 a minute from the break. The second period started badly with the hosts scoring after 51 minutes but The Bridge found some form when Green netted on 63 minutes and the deficit was down to two four minutes later when young Sam Betts scored. Hollington went looking to put the game to bed but man of the match Wayne Mewett marshalled the defence and keeper Lewis made three good saves before the final whistle. The 2nd team hosted Division 6 leaders Orington at the Recreation Ground and it was the visitors who took the lead on 20 minutes when home keeper Nick Townsend saved but from the resulting corner the visitors centre forward headed home. The Bridge pushed for the equaliser and that came five minutes before the break when man of the match Adam Hardy’ lob went over the stranded keeper. The second half saw both sides miss chances and it looked like The Bridge would hold on for the draw until the visitors midfield player ran twenty yards without being challenged before slotting the ball past keeper Townsend and the visitors secured promotion with another goal a minute from time. No games tomorrow.

STOOLBALL : Just a reminder that training starts at the Cricket Ground on Tuesday 7th April from 6.30p.m. and then again on Thursday 9th April. All are welcome.
