Robertsbridge Club: tomorrow Saturday 21st February will be the Robertsbridge Utd. Football Club Quiz Night.

On the first and third Tuesday of every month the Club holds Bingo and on the last Tuesday of the month there is always a Quiz. New Teams are always welcome to this. Membership of the club is only £15.00 per year and is well worth it just for the amount of benefits it gives you. Look out for some great bands this year and the football and rugby matches that you need to see will be shown on big screens.

St Mary’s: services for this week Sunday 22nd February (Lent 1) are at the Mission Room in Fair Lane with Holy Communion at 9am and the Sung Eucharist at St Mary’s at 11am. Sunday Club for all children of Primary Age will be held in the vestry during the morning service at St Mary’s.

Thursday 26th February there will be a prayer meeting in the Community Church at 7.30pm. This is a group linking St. Mary’s, members of the Darvel Community, the Community Church and Holy Trinity, Hurst Green. If you are interested in Christian Unity in Robertsbridge and Hurst Green please feel free to go along and find out more.

Robertsbridge Arts Partnership: are staging an event on Friday 27th February at 7.30pm in Robertsbridge Hall in conjunction with the Young Promoters Scheme, run by Applause, to encourage young people to get involved with the theatre. The show is inspired by David Thompson’s classic book `People of the Sea` and explores the intriguing question of how the people and communities entertained themselves before the days of TV, computers and smart phones. This show will be a vibrant, challenging night of story telling and improvisation from the acclaimed Cartoon de Salvo. Tickets are available from Judges Bakery and Pam on 880359 or [email protected] with the normal price being £9 and £6 but there will be discounted tickets for RAP members at £8 and £5 (u16s). Single members are eligible for 2 discounted tickets and family members 4.

Robertsbridge Hall: - The indoor Sale at Robertsbridge Hall on Saturday 28th is between 10am – 12 noon. If you require a table to sell you wares please contact Anne on 880457 for availability. There will be plenty of bargains for the general public, from books, puzzles, bric-a-brac, children and baby clothes, toys and much more.

The next film night will be on Friday 6th March starting at 7.30pm and the film will be `Mr Turner`. Put the date in your diary.

There is to be a Spring Outing on Saturday 18th April to the Imperial War Museum. This will be leaving at 9am and will cost £15.00. Ring Anne on 880457 to book your place.

DARTS: We hosted The Old King John last week and our poor form in the darts continued with a 5-2 defeat. There were wins for Michael Stone and David Goodsell while the Mixed Pairs of Alice Hodges/Stuart Miller won 2-0. There were 100+ scores for David[121,100], Keith Stone[2 x 100] and Michael[100]. We stay top of the pushpenny league after the 4-1 win with victories for Michael Stone, Dave Fortsch, Ted Goldfinch and David Goodsell, who scored 2 ‘goldwatches’. Tonight we are away at The Millers Arms 8p.m.

LADIES DARTS : Title contenders The White Hart were our opponents on Monday at Robertsbridge Club. We should have been leading after the singles but our doubles let us down again and Steph Goldsmith was our only victor. Jackie Danaher/Eileen Morgan won their doubles game and with nobody winning in the trebles we lost 9-2. There were high scores from Jackie[85,81,70], Alice Hodges[83], Steph[74] and Carol Apps[73]. On MOnday[23rd] we are away to Ticehurst Club 8p.m.

STOOLBALL: The A.G.M. will be held on Monday 23rd February 2015 at Robertsbridge Club commencing at 7.30p.m.
