This year the Annual Auction of Promises will be on Friday May 30th at Robertsbridge Club. If you have any items you would like to donate or to pledge please leave them with Sandie at the Floral Boutique for pick up. This is one of the main fundraisers for the year so please support, as the more money raised the better. The insurance this year has gone up over £1000 so a lot more money needs to be raised to ensure a bonfire night that we are used to.

Football: The 1st team travelled to Ninfield United in the Premier Division of the ADA East Sussex Football League and came away with a draw. Guy Ballard opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 11 minutes but the hosts equalised 6 minutes later. Ballard was the provider for the Bridge second goal after 37 minutes as Adam Hardy netted but again the hosts hit back when Bridge goalkeeper Grant Lewis misjudged a cross on 39 minutes. The second period saw the hosts take the lead on 65 minutes but then The Bridge went for the equaliser with man of the match Toby Blackman causing havoc in the hosts defence we had to wait until a minute from time when Dominic Whittaker hit the goal to give The Bridge a well deserved point. The 2nd team entertained local rivals F.C.Westridge at the Clappers where the visitors netted on the quarter hour mark but a 20 yard strike from Justin Hardy found it’s way into the net a minute later. The Bridge should have scored three goals in the next ten minutes but poor finishing let us down and this allowed the visitors to take the lead on 25 minutes however we were the better team but just could not find the net. The second half saw chances go begging at both ends and only keeper Nick Townsend stopped the visitors from increasing their lead but Townsend was at fault for the third goal on 70 minutes misjudging a cross. Further missed chances from the Bridge front line eventually come to fruition on 87 minutes when Howard Atkinson, who had been the main culprit for missed chances, finally scored but the visitors had the last word with a goal on the final whistle.
