Ladies darts: We were staring defeat in the face at The Seven Stars last Monday[25th] before we staged a dramatic recovery. Losing 4-1 after the singles with Eileen Morgan our only victor we recovered in the first doubles game with victory for Frankie Taylor/Steph Goldsmith, lost the second but Jackie Danaher/Eileen won the third to leave us just one game from defeat however we won all the trebles games through Frankie/Carol Apps/Alice Hodges, Jackie/Eileen/Steph and Frankie/Eileen/Jackie to snatch a 6-5 win. There were high scores for Jackie[129,87,84],

Carol[108,95,83,80], Alice[100] and Steph[83,80]. On Monday[9th December] we are at home to The White Hart(Netherfield) 8p.m.

Football: Both teams lost last Saturday because of their failure to take their chances with the 1st team losing 2-1 at Ore Athletic in the ADA East Sussex Football League Premier Division. We had three chances in the first 8 minutes through Clint Smith, Guy Ballard and a dissallowed Adam Hardy goal for handball while the hosts responded and only a goalline clearance from Adam Hardy and a save from Bridge keeper Grant Lewis kept us in the game. Ballard missed another chance on 16 minutes and then a goal from man of the match Phil Green was dissallowed for offside and just before the break the hosts missed again. The second period saw Lewis produce a save after 50 minutes before a goal finally came on 61 minutes when Ballard scored but the same player missed two good scoring chances on 67 and 68 minutes. Chris Phillips missed two minutes later and then Ballard had a shot saved before Dominic Whittaker hit the post which inspired the hosts as they hit the equaliser on 81 minutes and with just a minute left Ben Hardy gave away a penalty and all three points. The 2nd team played at Wittersham II in the 2nd Round of the Robertsbridge Charity Junior Cup, sponsored by Speedtarce Builders Ltd. The hosts took the lead on 5 minutes after poor defending but an excellent move was finished off by Mark Lucas with a header on 18 minutes to level the score. The Bridge pushed hard for the rest of the half and man of the match Glen Bladon was unlucky with a shot just before the break. The second half saw the Bridge take the lead on 47 minutes when Tim Hardy latched onto a poor back pass to beat the advancing keeper but the lead lasted just five minutes when a lapse in the Bridge defence allowed the hosts an equaliser. We should have sewn the game up but misses from Ian Austin and Wayne Mewett gave the hosts momentum and they took the lead ten minutes from the end and with the final whistle approaching we pushed all eleven players up for a corner which was cleared and allowed their striker an easy goal to progress. Tomorrow the 1st team are at home to Ninfield United in the 1st Round of the Hastings F.A. Intermediate Cup(K.O. 1.30p.m.) while the 2nd team travel to Eastbourne Sports Park to play Hampden Park United in the ADA East Sussex Football League Division 6(K.O. 2p.m.)
