This new scheme is establishing a network of community-based volunteers who will support people who wish to remain at home during their illness. Volunteers will provide practical support with the everyday tasks that need doing and which, when you have a life limiting illness, you find difficult to do. These can include light housework, gardening, pet care, collecting prescriptions or simply dropping in for a cup of tea and a chat. They are all trained and supported by the hospice.

After successful pilots in Rye, Northiam and Ore, the scheme is now extending across the rest of Hastings and Rother.

Clients have been quoted as `getting a new lease of life` and `the visits brighten my day`.

To find out more, please contact the Hospice Neighbours team on 01424 445177 or email [email protected]
