The autumn is fast approaching and if you fancy joining up with the Bingo evenings at Robertsbridge Club they are on the first and third Tuesday of every month, and on the last Tuesday of the month there is a Quiz Night.

Not forgetting that Bonfire Night will be with us very soon. If you are a bonfire member the work has already begun. Torch making will start in a couple of weeks. Marshals are needed for the night and also collectors, please think about offering your services as many people are needed to make the event a safe successful time for all and to do these jobs you do not need to be a member. The next meeting will be on Thursday 19th September at Robertsbridge Club at 8pm.

The children are now back at school with summer holidays already over. Next week will be the starting day for all the little ones who are just about to embark on their education at ` Big School`. Wishing everyone good luck on their first day at school, and a reminder for the parents to take tissues as there are bound to be a few tears, if not from the children then definitely the mums and dads.

STOOLBALL We ended our season at Hooe last Thursday[22nd] where the mixed team fielded first and took the first wicket in the second over after some good fielding with a run out and four balls later skipper Richard Apps took a catch from Ian Kitson’[1-8] bowling. A third wicket stand of 27 got the hosts back into the game but another catch from Richard broke the partnership off the bowling of his brother Keith[1-12]. JJ Boast[1-7] and Sophie Turner[1-8] finished the hosts 8 overs on 74-5. In reply we lost 4 wickets in the first over and only stubborn defence by Ian(38) and Diane Kitson(21n.o.) got us to within victory wanting 2 runs from the last ball but we could only manage 1 to draw the match. This Sunday is Brightling Ladies Tournament at Netherfield starting at 10.30a.m.
