Tomorrow morning Saturday 16th march is the Health Education Morning on `Dementia Information for Patients and Carers`. This is at 10am and there will be a presentation given on signs and symptoms and help that is available. There will be a short time for your questions and there will be leaflets and information available. Coffee will also be available during the morning. This event is organised by the Patient Participation Group for the Oldwood Surgery and Battle Health Centre.

Tuesday 19th March the classic swashbuckling adventure story `The Prisoner of Zenda` comes to Robertsbridge. This is a dramatic tale of political intrigue, identity swapping and star-crossed love in the fictional state of Ruritania, which has inspired two major Hollywood films featuring stars like Douglas Fairbanks JR, Ronald Colman and Deborah Kerr.

The play captures the excitement of the original novel with a dash of typical village life, which adds to the imaginative and unexpected twist and plenty of tongue in cheek fun.

`Prisoner of Zelda` will be the last production ever staged by acclaimed theatrical touring company, Chalkfoot, whose last performance in Robertsbridge was the much admired `Riddle of the Sands`.

This event is suitable for adults and families with children aged 12 +. This performance is being staged at Robertsbridge Hall at 7.30pm with entry at £9, concs £8, a bar will also be available. Please ring Pam on 880359 or email [email protected] to book your tickets.

Thursday 21st is the next evening of progressive Whist being held at Robertsbridge Hall. This starts at 7pm and is a very friendly evening with beginners made very welcome.

Thursday 21st also is the Robertsbridge Bonfire Society Annual General Meeting at Robertsbridge Club starting at 8pm.

On Saturday 23rd there will be a Crafty Coffee morning at Robertsbridge Club raising funds for the Bonfire Society event in November. Please ring me on 880491 for stall availability, as there is only a couple left as I type. The morning opens at 10am until 12.30

Robertsbridge Bonfire Society Dinner Dance is fast approaching and the forms are still available from Sandie at the Floral Boutique or by contacting Ria on 07902625965. The deadline is Monday 25th March as the Dinner is on April 6th at Powdermills. There is a coach available from Robertsbridge for this event.

A date for April, on 5th there will be another film show at Robertsbridge Hall with doors opening at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The film this time is to be the new `Great Expectations`.

LADIES DARTS: We played at The White Hart II(Wadhurst) and were losing 3-2 after singles victories for Jackie Danaher and Steph Goldsmith while Eileen Morgan/Jackie were our only doubles winners. We were 7-3 adrift in the trebles before Alice Hodges/Rosemary Clifford/Steph won the final match. There were high scores for Steph[114], Carol Apps[97,87,79], Dawn[92], Eileen[83], Rosemary[80,77x2] and Jackie[76]. On Monday [18th] we are at home to The Wheel Inn at 8p.m.

DARTS: Tonight is the Pairs Pushpenny knockout at The Kings Head 8p.m. Date for your diary:- Sunday 31st March see’s the return of the very popular Open Pairs Darts Knockout at Robertsbridge Club. Entry is £1 per person and registration is 7.30p.m. There will be an Easter Raffle so make sure you put this date in your diary NOW!!!

STOOLBALL: We start training on Thursday 4th April at the Cricket Ground @6.30p.m. We are looking to for anybody who would be interested in playing this ‘Old Sussex Game’. Don’t worry if you’ve never played before just come and enjoy our friendly club and we will teach you how to play. Date for your diary:- Saturday 13th April we are holding an ‘Indoor Curling Night’ at Robertsbridge Club @ 7.30p.m. Entry is £1 per person and a maximum of 4 players per team but don’t worry if you can’t get a team we will provide players just come and join this fun evening. There will also be a raffle to raise funds for the stoolball club.
