Village Calendars depicting scenes from around Robertsbridge by Lynette are available again this year from Belle Flowers at the cost of £5.50; they are in stock now and make an ideal Christmas Gift.

There are also Sussex Bonfire Calendars available from the Floral Boutique at £10.

I must finish off with Congratulations to all the Bonfire Society members that worked hard to make last Saturdays evening a fantastic success. Even though the weather was a little inclement, it was not so bad that like the last few years there was no visibility. This year the little breeze managed to keep the smoke moving just enough to allow the great fire and firework display to be seen clearly. The procession was in fine form with thanks to the Samba and Drumming bands keeping the noise levels and atmosphere up in the absence of any firecrackers and banger carts. Very nice displays let off around the village whilst the procession was taking place and thanks to the crowds for being sensible and having a fun safe night. Hopefully the collection will show the appreciation of everyone and I will let you know next week what the total was. Many thanks to all the collectors and marshals for their great efforts this event couldn’t happen without you. Bonfire Society draw tickets are available now from the Floral Boutique or by contacting a member of the society. This is for the usual Christmas Hampers and the money taken for the sales of these go into the funds to start saving for next years event.

Also next year the Bonfire Dinner Dance is taking place at Powdermills Hotel on April 6th. If you are interested in reserving a place please contact Ria on 07902625965 or email me on [email protected]
