Christmas is fast approaching and tomorrow Saturday 10th November there is to be a Christmas Craft and Gift Fair at Robertsbridge Club. This is a fundraiser to raise funds to help towards the Clubs Children’s Christmas Party in December. Many of the craft items for sale are made in Robertsbridge, with stalls including jewellery, Christmas cards and Advent calendars, paintings, holly wreaths, children’s clothes, photographs, spa gifts, crafty gifts for adults and children, cakes, fancy scarves and refreshments. There will be a stall for selling your preloved clothes and accessories. (If you have clothes to sell please contact 01580881884.) Please pop in and have a browse and if you don’t find that perfect bargain you can always have a nice slice of cake and a coffee. Entry is free and it is open from 10am until 1pm.

A reminder that also tomorrow is the Open Day at `Ruftic` in Poppinghole Lane between 10am – 3pm. Quirky workshop gifts for all ages with refreshments available. For further details please ring 07917655517/ 07828450835.

Sunday is Remembrance Day with a parade to and from the St Mary’s Church Salehurst during the morning. Please drive carefully through the village, and please be respectful at midday when there will be a service at the memorial by switching off you car engines.

November 5th has been and gone but next week the celebrations come to Robertsbridge on Saturday 17th.

The Guy Competition is taking place again this year with all Guys having to be at the Recreation Ground by 1.30pm with Judging at 2pm. Main prize is £20 which is sponsored by the Floral Boutique.

Friday 23rd is the showing of the film `The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel` at Robertsbridge Hall with doors opening at 7.30pm

Friday 30th November is a 70`s, 80`s, and 90`s music night at Robertsbridge Club being run by Robertsbridge Bonfire Society with entry at only £3 for members and £5 for guests.

Sally Kendrick would like to thank all have sponsored her for the Sky Dive that she has done. There are still a few that haven’t paid yet so could you please pop into the shop and settle up as it needs to be in before December 1st, many thanks.

I thought this subject was over with but no, there is still an irresponsible dog owner letting their pet foul up the path most of the way up George Hill. The children are back at school and there are many that use this pathway each day, please if you allow your dog to toilet on the path please pick it up and dispose of it appropriately.

Football: The weather claimed both our matches this week. Tomorrow the 1st team are away to Peche Hill Select at Tilekiln while the 2nd team are at home to Herstmonceux III with both matches kick-off at 2p.m. Dates for your diary : Saturday 8th December 2012 we are holding a ‘Poker Night’ from 8p.m. at Robertsbridge Club.

Ladies Darts: We had a terrible start at The Bear losing 5-0 after the singles but we recovered slightly with two wins in the doubles for Alice Hodges/Dawn Mitchell and Carol Apps/Steph Goldsmith. Jackie Danaher/Eileen Morgan/Steph won our only trebles game as we lost the match 8-3. There were high scores for Jackie[98,94], Steph[95] and Carol[93,81,80]. On Monday[12th] we are away to The Best Beech 8p.m.

Darts: We played at The Kings Head against Crowhurst Park in the Team Pushpenny K.O. Cup.

Cherry Taylor/Alec Martin started with a 2-0 win but Alan Apps/Dave Goodsell lost 2-0 and in the final game Ted Goldfinch/Michael Stone won 2-0. Tonight we are away to Mountfield Club ‘A’(8p.m.).
