Tomorrow evening at Robertsbridge Club the Robertsbridge Utd. FC presents `Peak Output` with the doors opening at 7.30pm.

Club member’s entry is £2 and non-members are £3.

A message for all bonfire society members, torch making starts on Sunday 16th September at the bonfire shed starting at 9am. Bacon butties and coffee will be available. Please pass the message on to as many members as possible because to have a good night in November means the work starts now.

Robertsbridge Aviation Society would like to thank everyone that attended and supported their Jumble Sale; it made £263.00 towards the museum upkeep funds.

At their meeting on Monday 17th September there is to be a speaker by the name of Andy Saunders. He will be giving a talk on the subject of Spitfire MK 1 P9374, which first flew on 23rd February 1940, and was shot down on 24th May 1940 after having completed 32.5 flight hours. It was recovered during the 1980`s and underwent a massive restoration, and was then flying again on 30th August 2011.

This meeting is at Bush Barn TN32 5PA with a start time of 8.15pm sharp. Non-members are welcome to attend. Entry is free but donations are always welcome. If you need any further information please contact 01424 773428.

Are you feeling like getting fit for the winter months? Well these classes in Robertsbridge may be just what you need. Starting this Monday 17th September there is Hatha Yoga for all. Friendly mixed ability classes with beginners very welcome. Mondays 5-6.30pm, Wednesdays 9.30am – 11am, Thursdays 7pm- 8.30pm.

There is Keep Fit for the over 60`s. Stay fit and flexible with classes that have been designed for the older body in mind. This includes some cardio exercise for the heart, some exercise to improve balance, and some to help flexibility and strength. This class is held on a Wednesday between 11.30am – 12.30pm.

There is a Keep Fit class with High Impact exercise; these are designed to “feel the burn” and to shift a few unwanted inches with beginners welcome. This is on a Monday between 7pm – 8pm. All of the classes cost £6.20 and it is essential to book, as places are limited. Please ring Tracey on 01580 880360 ext. 121.

Wednesday 19th September is Tea Dance Party Day at Robertsbridge Club between 2pm – 4.30pm. Cost for the afternoon is £3.50 and the price includes music and dancing, tea and cake, a raffle, lots of chat, and of course not forgetting the wit and humour of DJ Lumpy. Robertsbridge Bonfire Society runs this event.

On Thursday 20th September is Progressive Whist at Roberstbridge

Hall, Station Road, starting at 7pm, all are welcome.

Also on 20th is Robertsbridge Bonfire Society monthly meeting at Robertsbridge Club starting at 8.30pm. Remember those of you that joined up on Badge Night need to attend this meeting to see your membership agreed.

In a few weeks on Sunday 7th October there is to be ` A Gig for Alan` at Robertsbridge Club starting at 4pm.

Robertsbridge Bonfire Society will be holding its Annual Dinner Dance next year on Saturday April 6th and will be going back to Powdermills Hotel. This year it was cancelled due to very low numbers so if you fancy having a lovely evening out where you can dress up and eat, drink, be merry and dance the night away, this may give you something to look forward to during the winter months. Bonfire season is fast approaching so please start thinking about helping out on the day by either being a collector or a marshal. As we get nearer to the night there will be more details in this column of jobs and activities that need to be done to make it a fantastic event, keep your eyes peeled.

DARTS: The dart season is approaching and it is time to start practicing. Monday nights is ladies night while Thursday and Friday is mixed night so if you are interested in playing either or all nights pop down and join the players for a beer and a game of darts. There will be a meeting of all interested people who would like to play on a Friday evening on Friday 21st September at 8p.m.
