FOOTBALL: Training is on Tuesday evenings from 6.30p.m. at the Recreation Ground. Dates for your diary : Saturday 15th September 2012 Live at Robertsbridge Club are ‘Peak Output’ from 8p.m. Saturday 20th October 2012 we are holding a ‘Race Night’ from 8p.m.

STOOLBALL: The mixed team played at Brightling on Tuesday with the hosts batting first Sophie Turner claimed the first wicket helped by Ian Kitson’ catch and then Ian, helped by Josh Lewis’ catch, saw the hosts struggling at 15-2 before a third wicket partnership of 40 steadied the innings. Good fielding resulted in a run out and then Josh took his second catch of the match from Richard Apps’ bowling as the hosts finished on 124-4. Our reply was probably our worst batting performance this season as nobody could cope with the hosts accurate bowling apart from JJ Boast who ended up unbeaten on 14 as we were skittled out for 59. We played better at Hooe on Thursday with the hosts batting first they lost their first wicket on 5 when Alan Apps held onto a catch behind the wicket from Di Kitson’s bowling and in the third over Ian Kitson took the next wicket holding onto a return catch. The hosts lost their third wicket with 25 runs on the board when Di took a catch behind the wickets from Melinda Mackay’ bowling. Josh Lewis struck with his first ball but a mini revival saw the hosts get to 63 before their next wicket fell to skipper Phil Green with the help of a catch from Josh and when JJ Boast held onto a catch from Sophie Turner’ bowling the hosts were struggling on 73-6 and in the final over they lost two more wickets to run out’s before ending their innings on 85-8. In reply we got off to a disastrous start losing both our openers with just 4 runs on the board and it got worse losing another two wickets in the next over but Josh[26] and Bev Green[20] steadied the innings supported by JJ[15] and Alan[19 not out] we finished our innings on 108-9 to win by 23 runs. On Tuesday[21st] the mixed are at home to Catsfield starting at 6.45p.m.
