Stoolball: The mixed team played at Crowhurst on Thursday and batting first we lost opener Josh Lewis[1], Sophie Turner[6], Richard Apps[7] and JJ Boast[6] with just 30 on the board but a 5th wicket partnership of 112 between Claire Hatter[30 not out] and skipper Phil Green[73 not out] saw us complete our 11 overs finishing on 142-4. The hosts lost their first wicket on 18 when Josh held onto a catch from Bev Green’s bowling and when Josh took his second catch from his own bowling the hosts were on 33-2. Claire took the next wicket and when opener Steve[47] was run out the hosts were still on course at 62-4 but some good bowling saw Alan Apps clean bowl the next victim, then take a catch from Di Kitson’s bowling while Di took a catch from Phil’s bowling to leave the hosts on 96-8 and with the hosts needing 9 runs of the last over skipper Phil cleaned up the final two wickets as the hosts finished on 137 all out.
