Stoolball: Last Thursday we entertained Pett Mixed at the Clappers in an 11 over match. Batting first we lost opener Josh Lewis first ball but a partnership of 40 between Sarah Clark(17) and Ian Kitson(13) steadied the innings but then a collapse 6 wickets for just 23 runs in the space of 4 overs which saw Phil Green(9), Sophie(1), JJ(10) reduce us to 63-6 and when Ben(0), Di Kitson(10), Richard Apps(9) were run out we managed to get to 93 all out with Alan Apps unbeaten on 9. The visitors were soon in trouble losing their opener to Ian(1-6) and good fielding resulted in two run out’s and when Josh(1-5) struck the visitors were on 19-4. Ben(1-9) and another run out saw them on 36-6 but a unbeaten innings of 28 by Erin took them close to victory but Richard(1-8) another run out and finally Alan(1-1) saw us home by just 4 runs. Our Mixed Tournament is on Sunday starting at 10.30a.m. and on Thursday(2nd ) the mixed are away to Crowhurst starting at 7p.m.

Fishing: The season has started and the Rother Fishery Association yearly tickets for fishing the Rother are now available from Alan Apps(01580-880877) @ £3.25 for anybody over the age of 12. Don’t forget to get your rod licence from the Post Office.
