Tonight Friday 25th the band `1066 Rockitmen` are playing at Robertsbridge Club. This starts at 8pm with a nominal entrance fee of £2 for members and £3 for guests.

Robertsbridge Aviation Society would like to thank all those that supported them last week at their Jumble Sale; they raised profits of £265.00 towards the upkeep of the museum.

This Sunday 27th May the museum will be open from 2pm – 5pm at Bush Barn Robertsbridge, TN32 5PA. There are Aeronautical Exhibits from WW1 up to the present day. There will be light refreshments available, free parking, free admission but donations are always welcomed. On Monday 28th May again at Bush Barn there will be a speaker talking on `The Vulcan` and some of its history. Admission is again free but donations welcome.

On Sunday May 27th there will be a Jubilee Evensong at St Mary’s Church, Salehurst at 5.30pm. Before the service there will be a Jubilee Cream Tea to which everyone is welcome. This starts at 4pm and it is hoped to be outside the church, so bring a chair or blanket. If the weather is not kind and it is raining tea will still go ahead but will be inside the church. The event is Free and if you would like to know more please contact Gail on 01580 880238.

A date for the diary is Sunday 1st July when there will be a Jubilee Family Service of Thanksgiving. There will hopefully be a parade with the Uniformed Organisations, also favourite hymns and readings from some of the young people in the village. There will be displays and an exhibition of memorabilia at both services.

PCSO Tina Grevett will be holding her surgery in the High Street on Monday 28th May at 10am.

If you are planning to take tables, chairs, gazebos and things for the days comfort it is advised that you set them up at the Recreation Ground between 11am – 12noon to avoid congestion when the day is in full swing.

The Grand Procession will start at 1.45pm and will start from the Station Road Car Park. You can dress up in festive costumes and medals will be awarded for the best contribution. At 2.15 the afternoon fun and games will begin. Including the Sedan Chair Races, Village Games, Cycle events and the Fun Sports that will have an Olympic Theme. At 5.30pm the Youth Bands will be performing and at 8pm til late there will be live music and dancing to P`Zaz. Take your food and drink and have a great day. There is a local couple that have been married 60 years on Thursday 31st May who live in Robertsbridge. This means they will be celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary on Jubilee year. Congratulations to Eric and Phyllis Goodsell, 60 years and never a cross word !!

FOOTBALL: Saturday 16th June 2012 we are holding a ‘Prize Bingo’ at Robertsbridge Club 8p.m.

STOOLBALL: The Ladies team match at Hooe on Tuesday was cancelled because of the weather and the Mixed teams match against Crowhurst on Thursday was cancelled because the visitors could not raise a side. Our Ladies Tournament went ahead last Sunday. We played three matches against Icklesham, Hooe and Brightling and lost all three and despite Poppy Barilus’ 80 runs and 4 wickets, Bev Green’ 2 catches neither player won the award for Most Runs which went to Ann(Hooe), Most Wickets went to Sophie (Brightling) and Most Catches went to Tamsin (Icklesham) while the winners of the Wendy Ball Shield were Brightling with Hooe the runners-up. On Tuesday 29th the Ladies are at home to Icklesham while on Thursday 31st the Mixed team are at home to Scorpions with both matches starting at 6.45p.m.

DARTS: The next ‘Open Pairs Darts’ is at Robertsbridge Club on Sunday 3rd June 2012. This is becoming very popular and highly entertaining with registration at 7.30p.m. and entry fee of just £1 per person.
