There are many stalls supplying fresh meat and vegetables, home made cakes and pies, there is an excellent pet food stall that also sells bird feed, and there is a craft stall too. If there is nothing you can find that you would like to buy you can always just have a coffee and a chat with friends. Whatever you fancy it’s a nice way to spend a Saturday morning.

Robertsbridge Football Club are presenting an evening of `Curryaoke` tomorrow March 3rd. This is an evening where you can enjoy having a curry and then a sing along with karaoke too. This is being held at Robertsbridge Club and costs £3.00 entrance, starting at 7.30pm.

On Sunday 4th March starting at 4pm is Lumpy and Lumpettes playing at Robertsbridge Club. Members and guests welcome.

Are you a thespian in the making, would you like to act and have never had the opportunity, if so this is for you. Lantern Theatre group is holding 2 reading sessions and 2 audition nights for a village production of William Shakespeare’s, Twelfth Night. The 1st reading will take place on Monday 5th March and the 1st Audition on Thursday 8th March at Robertsbridge Club both starting at 7.30pm.

The 2nd reading will be on Tuesday 13th March with audition on Tuesday 20th March both again at Robertsbridge Club and both starting at 7.30pm.The readings and auditions will be organised in a way that will aim to make the play text accessible to all who would like to get involved, including those that may be a little nervous about doing a Shakespeare Production. If you are tempted why not go along and see what its about, there is no obligation but you may end up having a great time. But if you cant contact them just turn up on the first session. There is confidence that this will prove to be an exciting and enjoyable project for all those that get involved, and for those that will be coming to watch the production sometime in early August.

Robertsbridge and District Archaeological Society will be holding its next meeting on Friday 9th March at Robertsbridge Hall starting at 7.45pm.the speaker for the evening will be Professor Henry Cleere on `50 Years in Archaeology`. On 14th March is the WI meeting where the topic for the speaker will be ` A Sussex Farm during the 1950`s` The WI are extending a warm welcome to anyone that would like to attend, male or female. A nice cup of tea and home made cakes will be served at 2.30pm with the talk given afterwards. This could be a very nostalgic afternoon for many with pleasant memories of times gone by.

Volunteers are needed to help with conservation work in the Pocket Park and Bishops Meadow on Saturday 17th March. If you want to have a go at hedge cutting, pond clearing, coppicing and more, even if you have no experience you are welcome to go along and learn as you go. This work is vital to help keep the community green spaces in good shape and not get out of control. There are many people from the community that use these spaces throughout the year and it is essential to keep them neat and tidy so that they can be used. A local dad is running the London Marathon this year, his name is Matthew Wilkinson and he is running to raise funds for `BLISS` which is a charity that helps babies that are born too soon that are too small and very sick and need help. To help him reach his fundraising target him and his wife Sarah are organising a Table Sale on Saturday 24th March at Robertsbridge Hall between 10am – 12 noon. There will be lots of things for sale, from baby equipment, clothes, toys, books, DVD`s, crockery, pictures, plants, jewellery, stationery, anything you can think of that will fit on a table will probably be there. There will also be a cake stall, refreshments, a raffle, and of course for the children there will be face painting, or even the bigger kids !! can have their faces painted too. There sounds like there will be something for everyone, so why not put the date in your diary and go along for a bargain.

Zoe Wood would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that supported her Prize Bingo evening last Friday. To those that made very generous donations, those that went along and played bingo and to all those that helped get the event ready and during the evening, and any one that supported in any way. This was for the Early Baby Fund and raised £1026.00 a fantastic amount. Well-done Zoe.

Ladies darts: We played at The Bear II on Monday[20th] in the semi-final 1st leg of the Team Knockout Cup. We were 4-1 down after the singles with Eileen Morgan our only winner and the match was lost after Jackie Danaher/Eileen were our only doubles winners. We recovered in the trebles with victories for Steph Goldsmith/Carol Apps/Eileen and Carol/Eileen/Jackie to lose 7-4 on the night. There were high scores for Jackie [135, 100, 90], Dawn Mitchell [124, 84] and Carol [95, 83, 80]. On Monday [5th March] we are at home to The White Hart (Wadhurst).
