ROCK STAR MIDGE BOOSTS RADIO STATION

MUSIC maestro Midge Ure paid a special visit to Uckfield on Friday and will feature on the town's radio station later in the summer.

Midge, an Ivor Novello and Grammy award winning artist, performed to more than 150 people at the Civic Centre.

Gary King, head of programming and music at Uckfield FM, interviewed Midge before the performance.

He said: 'It was great to meet with Midge. We spoke to him at length for nearly half an hour before the concert.

'He was happy to talk about his days in Thin Lizzy, Slik and Ultravox and we hope the people of Uckfield will enjoy listening to the interview on Uckfield FM.'

The interview will be edited into a short programme featuring Midge Ure's greatest hits, to be broadcast later this summer.
