Romans go gangster in Lewes play

Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar

The action of Julius Caesar will be catapulted forward in time 2,000 years to London in the 1960s in a new production by Lewes Youth Theatre and Sussex Downs College.

Romans will be replaced by gangsters in their performance on Thursday November 27 at the Town Hall in Lewes.

Performing Arts and Production Arts students will show a darker, grittier side of the classic historical play by William Shakespeare with Julius Caesar dressed as the mayor.

Performances will be at 4pm and 7.30pm. You should arrive 30 minutes early to experience clubland.

Tickets £5 and £3.50 concessions, from Lewes Tourist Information Centre on 01273 483448
