Roping together for a better community in Littlehampton

RESIDENTS in Littlehampton have been celebrating after they were given a grant to help brighten up their community.

Members of the Rope Walk Residents’ Group have been working tirelessly to improve the area by their street.

And this week the association has been adding the finishing touches to a two displays, thanks to a £323 donation from the River Ward Panel.

Edna Faria, chairman of the residents’ group, said: “We are trying to improve Rope Walk, not only for residents, but for visitors alike. The support from the River Ward Panel has been fantastic.”

The group has added a new planter, made up of old railway sleepers donated by The Littlehampton Academy, which replaced a tired phone box outside Rope Walk.

A mural has also been painted to welcome visitors to the area.

Previously, the group had received £862 to pay towards its first flower display inside a small, renovated fishing boat.

The panel is made up of residents, councillors, representatives of The Littlehampton Academy, Arun Well-being and Sussex Police.
