Their production, What a Knight!, was performed at the school, in Raleigh Road, Rose Green, last week for fellow junior school pupils, parents and children at Rose Green Infant School.

The story was set on King Arthur’s birthday and told of the Camelot cook’s son, Watt Cobblers, and his struggle to become a knight.

The dastardly Black Knight almost spoiled the celebrations by kidnapping the princesses and attempting to steal Excalibur.

However, Watt and the Good Knights saved the day, by saving the prisoners and finally pulling the lost sword from a scone!

School secretary Vanessa Dodson said: “With rousing songs and puns galore, the laugh out loud performance delighted everyone.

“Well done to year five, they were fabulous.”
