The three-day carnival has a Vintage Vibe theme and includes a car show, beach market, live music and entertainment, as well as a family festival day with interactive workshops and live performances.

Since its beginning in 1921, Rotary Carnival has raised more than £40,000 for charitable causes such as Ferring Country Centre, the most recent to benefit.

Lynda Vowles, from the country centre, said: “The Rotarians have always been enthusiastic, fun loving and dedicated in their support.”

Fun for all the family includes face painting, Long Nose Puppets and the Acrojou Outdoor Theatre, displaying theatrical acrobatics.

Sue Worthington, chairman of Worthing Carnival, said: “Rotary Carnival and Bartie Presents are working together to make 2015 the best one ever and have made the decision to extend it across the bank holiday weekend to create even more opportunities to fundraise and ensure everyone has a chance to get involved with the festivities.”

The annual carnival procession along the seafront will be on Monday, departing from Grand Avenue at 12.30pm and arriving at The Steyne at 1pm.
