Rotary Club of Lewes rewards service to the community

The Rotary Club of Lewes has presented Citizenship Awards to seven individuals who by their selfless efforts have made a difference to the community.

Ruby Smith, Sasha Donovan-Anns and Safi Hamid were proposed by Mike Manktelow of Priory School for their work on a leaflet for the Linklater Pavilion.

Judy Lawrenson was proposed by Bob Spooner, the Scouts Assistant District Commissioner, for 23 years as a Pack Assistant with the 6th Lewes Cub Pack. “Nothing was too much trouble for her,” he said.

Daisy Franks and Aiden Stiebahl-Breeds were proposed by Philip Dean from Ringmer Academy. Daisy has raised more than £4,000 to date for CLIC Sargent. She has done all the fundraising and organisation herself and shaved her head to raise the money. Aiden has raised more than £1,000 for CLIC Sargent – including abseiling down a church tower.
