Rowing Social Club to stage open day to mark bar refurbishment

BEXHILL Rowing Social Club is staging an open day on Sunday July 6 to mark the opening of its newly-refurbished premises.

Chairman John Stevens says: "Bexhill is home to one of the best rowing clubs along the South Coast, providing as it does, an opportunity for young people to participate in a challenging and exciting sport.

"Coastal rowing is far from easy, (as I found out myself during the Fun Regatta held earlier this month), but the Bexhill Rowing Club boasts an impressive array of trophies, won up and down the coast over many years.

"The Bexhill Rowing Social Club offers support, and an excellent environment in which both rowers and supporters may relax and enjoy themselves.

"A number of the social club members have given both their time and expertise, which together with a very generous cash donation by one member, has enabled BRSC to completely refurbish the saloon bar of their premises on Channel View East.

"His Worship the Mayor has agreed to re-open the room at 2.30pm on Sunday.

"BRSC are making that Sunday an open day to mark the occasion, where non-members are welcome to visit the premises and chat to members.

"In addition, last week's gales meant that the Bexhill rowing regatta had to be postponed. Weather permitting, this will now also be held on July 6."
